The Johnston Fire Department is a highly trained, career department committed to minimizing and preventing the loss of life and property to the residents, businesses, and visitors of the Town of Johnston, Rhode Island.
We accomplish this through professional, high-quality, efficient response in the areas of Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Services, Hazardous Materials Mitigation, Fire Prevention, and Public Education.
The Johnston Fire Department protects an area of 24.36 square miles and a population of approximately 30,000. Service is provided at the highest level of professionalism by 93 Firefighters led by a Department Chief who staff 12 pieces of fire apparatus, which are distributed throughout the town’s 4 fire stations.
The Johnston Fire Department completed 8170 emergency calls for service in 2022.
